Records have been uncovered regarding a humanoid automaton that was present during both the Spanish-American War and the Boxer Rebellion.   Other records dating as far back as the 1890s report of the said thing having been unveiled at the 1893 World Columbian Exposition in Chicago.  It is believed that the automaton was also active during the First World War but was captured by the Germans.  Theorists suggest reverse-engineering of the automaton was what allowed the German military to make great technological advances within two decades.

Further comprehensive research soon uncovers easily accessible webpages and publications that refer to the automaton as "Boilerplate" and claim it was mere a hoax intended to amuse and entertain.  References show of graphic novels as well as an upcoming movie production by J.J. Abrams of the said concept, further supporting the idea that the automaton was merely a creative exercise to begin with.

However, investigations supported with the use of rudimentary Arcana have shown irrefutable proof of the automaton's existence as having been real.  The standing suspicion is that certain societal forces have moved to disguise and conceal the automaton's existence by placing it merely into the realm of fiction.

  1. And so we have the possible opposing faction now introduced. The name is interesting in its simplicity; referring to both the man whose book stands as the groundwork of every scientific endeavor related to classical mechanics, as well as a popular grouping of beyond ordinary individuals of a specific society.

Having it hide in plain sight as well is remarkably amusing and effective!
